Prices
Define hourly based and lump sum prices on the Prices screens to be able to track the cost of the project.
Permissions
Prices screens is visible for the users with View
permission on Project Configuration -> Prices
functionality. Users with Create/Edit
and
Delete
permissions have the ability to modify or delete
prices, subject to the following organization-specific rules:
-
Project owner organizations can create both internal and external prices.
-
Subcontractors and clients can create only internal prices.
-
Lump sum prices created by project owners can be viewed but cannot be edited to add internal prices by subcontractors. Subcontractors can create lump sums with internal prices solely for internal use. This allows them to track the internal cost of running the project. This ensures that project owners retain control over the original lump sum prices while subcontractors can manage their internal cost tracking.
Price type
There are two types of prices in SUM-IT:
-
Internal price - defines how much an organization pays for the resource in the project or for the completion of lump sum. Internal price of one organization can at the same time be an external price of another organization.
-
External price - defines how much an organization receives for the resource in the project or for the completion of lump sum. Only project owner can create external prices, they will be visible as internal for its client organization. All other organizations will be able to create internal prices only. In case if they create internal price for the equipment or person roles of their subcontractors then they will see that prices as external.
Example scenario:
There are two organizations A and B. Organization B reports to A. Organization A is a project owner. Daily reporting flow looks as follows:
B -> A
Organization B provides a crane on the site. Internal hourly cost of the crane for B is 500EUR. B charges A 750EUR per hour for the crane and A (the project owner) charges the client 1000EUR for that crane, hence the prices for the crane will look as follows:
Price type | Crane Price |
---|---|
B Internal | 500 |
B External and A Internal | 750 |
A External | 1000 |
Every organization in the project can edit their own internal prices, external price can be edited only by project owner (A). Subcontractor external price is at the same time internal price of the organization one level above in the daily reporting flow, and is editable by that organization only.
